Day 29

Day 29

On the way to Monterrey, Mexico

A new day in Mexico and the most spectacular thing was the landscape! After the exciting last days, it was a real relief not to experience any big surprises.

It is still very hot, but the wind turned during the day. Now it comes from all sides, just not from the front. However, the wind is still very strong, as we can see again and again on the vortexes on the side. We are higher in the mountains and therefore the temperature has become more bearable. The last two days were really tough and last night was really sweaty. Hopefully, it cools down a bit in the night!

The Mexicans are very excited about our project so far. When we take a break on the side of the road, they come to us and ask quite interested in what we are doing here. Thankfully, they also offered themselves as witnesses for the World Record attempt.

Of course, a new country also comes with organizational changes. We will have to change our shopping routines. Instead of a bulk purchase in the large supermarkets, we will go to the small shops more often. We also have to buy drinking water and can no longer fill it in our tank, which of course requires more space. At least, we try to reduce the amount of waste and buy bigger canisters.

Now we are looking forward to our new team member, who will arrive at night and join us at dawn. Thanks to Gerhard Niedrist, who lives in Monterrey and contacted us out of the blue to ask if we need anything, our new cameraman will be picked up from the airport and brought directly to us. Thank you so much!
